About

This blog is a chronicle of my experience in Instructional Technology and Design at Walden University.  I’m glad to have you Sharing the Learning Journey.

With the completion of my last course I reached the half-way point in my degree program.  Phew!  It has been:

  • Very educational
  • Very interesting
  • Intellectually stimulating
  • Exactly what I wanted from my educational experience

It is now 5 months since I began this blog – and what a wonderful trip it has been!

The class I’m currently taking, Advanced Instructional Design, is big fun and very very demanding.  (OK, I am writing this from a pool-side location as I enjoy my baseball Spring Training vacation in Phoenix – but my fingers are on this keyboard not on a fluffy novel, and I did just submit a homework assignment. – gotta’ love this distance-education idea!)

Hello,

Thanks for visiting my blog!

It was started as an assignment for my EDUC 6115 Learning Theories and Instruction course with the goal of exploring the world of blogs and creating our own PLC.  I have been exposed to the idea of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) through the blog Seedlings at: http://bitbybitseedlings.ning.com/.

I have learned a lot from the discussions on this blog, but it is run by three elementary-level school teachers and I intend to design instruction for university-level learners so their “hot topics” are not an exact match to my interests.  Through Seedlings, I learned about NECC09, an educational technology conference, which, based on their recommendation, I attended virtually.
